Argument
Are you one of the bullying victims? There are many people are had been though this too, you are not alone. As we all know that bullying is really bad and it need to stop from our society. Current bullying is a big issue in US. There are so many cases about bullying and most of the bullying occurs is in classroom. Most of the times, the teacher don’t aware of bullying is occurs in their classroom. The teachers and the adult supervisors should pay more attention and take bullying more serious.
What is school bullying? There are many bullying cases around globe such as cyber bullying, intimidation, social alienation, indirect bullying, verbal bullying and physical bullying. In general, “Bullying is intentionally harmful, aggressive behavior of a more powerful person or group of people directed repeatedly toward a less powerful person, usually without privation.” (“Bullying at school among older adolescents”) Some teachers still don’t understand this bullying mean. When a student was tease another student for a few time is verbal bullying but the teachers think that they just joking when they not. I believe that teachers should pay close more attention even it was just small things. Small problem can lead to big problem. While it is small problem, they should solve it.
When I was in high school, I was a victim of verbal bullying. The bully was made fun of me, name-calling, and tease and so on. Also dress differently from them because I’m from different country so they often tease at me. I knew how scary and struggle it was to be victim of bullying. At the time I could only spoke a little English so it was hard for me to tell other about the bullying but I did try to tell my teacher. Sometime, I tried to tell the teacher but they just ignore me and told us to be quite. Tried after tired, I couldn’t get the help that I needed so I just gave up. I stayed quiet and ignore everyone throughout the high school period. I did left out in the classroom. I was always tired and exhausted to keep up but I didn’t give up. I kept on trying and I made it to now. What if things get harder and harder, I don’t know what I would do. What if the bullying victim couldn’t keep it up like me? What if they give up? Some victims wanted or even kill themselves because they couldn’t take it anymore? When the bullying occurring, where was the teacher and why didn’t they do anything?
There are many reasons why students don’t want to go to school is to avoided bullying. “ Kearney cites studies indicating that students who have been bullied are twice as likely to feel unsafe at school compared with non-victimized students, and that 20% of children in elementary school would rather skip school to avoid being bullied. “ (“He’s okay on weekends”)  If the students don’t even feel safe at school, they can’t learn or study. Teachers, counselors, principals and supervisors as the adults in school should have made the school feel safe for every student. Since school isn’t safe for the bullied victims, then they would rather stay home. They put themselves away from everyone around them.
“One recent study reports that in school settings, bullying is missed by adults 96% of the time.” (“What Parents Can Do When Bullying is Downplayed School”) most of the bully occurs in the classroom and the teacher didn’t catch it. Teachers are the supervisors in the classroom. They need to do a better job so bullying can cut down. Some people would say that the teacher are busy focused on what is going on. The teachers would defense themselves that they didn’t see it happening or they were just being kids. They don’t take bullying serious enough to do something about it. The teachers’ lack of awareness can cause the bully have the power to bullied other students. This make the bullying victim feel helpless and overwhelmed. Some of bullied victim even kill themselves.
There are many cases of students that kill themselves around the globe because of bullying. According to Teen Commits Suicide Due to Bullying: Parents Sue School for Son’s Death article, there were four students committed suicide. Those cases were connected to bullying. Although, each case was in different time period but all of those students were in the same classroom and in same school. Teacher was failed to protect the students. Mentor Public School District communications director stated that those cases weren’t a problem and it wasn’t connected to bullying. I don’t understand how is that is not a problem, this many students kill themselves in the school. The school must take bullying more serious or many more students will in danger.
When bullying occurring in classroom, the teacher should move their table. If the bully still repeats the same mistake, the teacher should send the student to the office or student counselor. Even when the teacher doesn’t catch the bullying situation, the teacher should be more open to listen and try to figure out what was going on. It is not easy to pay attention to every student in one classroom with one teacher. But as long as the teachers take bullying more serious and help, the bullying will cut down. As the teacher, protector your students that are in your classroom and make sure they feel safe. For bully victims out there, you should go talk to your parents, teachers or friends. You are not alone, there are people will go help you. But you need to go get the help, don’t be scary and feel hopeless.

The subculture I chose was pre-kindergarten and preschool children. The reason I chose them is because I am a student in early childhood education: preschool and I always wanted to work with young children. I actually have never been in preschool or pre-kindergarten classroom and know what their environments were like. For the assignment, I went to ABC fun preschool at Grove Street to observation what pre-kindergarten and preschool children were and what was their environment was like.
The playground was in the front yard. There were fences around so the students can’t go out to the road. There were no sharp edges and no danger planet. There was just grass and trees. The floor was pieces of small soft woods so it was okay for children to fall. There was a sidewalk that they walk through to go inside to the classroom. There were swings, slide, and place of basketball. There was a short stair to go inside. To get inside, I passed through two doors. I click on the bell ring on the first door, a teacher came open the door for me then we passed another open right after it to go in. In preschool’s classroom, the wall color was pink, light green and purple. There were many pictures hang on the wall around the room such as English alphabets, foods, animals, and so on. The ceiling color was white and white rectangle lights. The floor was soft texture and some parts were cover by rugs so it is okay for children to fall. The teacher storage was at the left side. At the right there were storage, next to it there were sink and fridge and near that there was the bathroom. There were three tables with eight chairs for each other behind the clothes stand. The computers area was left side, next to it there was rest and reading area. The kitchen area was next to the board and there were many pictures of food on the wall.
I arrived there at freeplay time. Everyone was clearing up and getting ready to go outside to play. Before they went outside, the teacher asked the students to stand in front of the door and spell their names out loud and she wrote the name on the whiteboard of the day attended. We were outside. There were nice students and one teacher. Two students were playing on swings, and a girl student push the swing for another girl student. Another three students were riding the toy cars up and down on the sidewalk inside the fence. The others three students were playing on the slide. They played there for a while then it was time for them to go back inside. We were inside and a student came in which make ten students in the classroom and two teachers. Three students make puzzle. They were separated the pieces of puzzle into grounds. Another four students were drawing on the table that the teacher set up for them. The teacher sat in the middle and the students sat near her. “You doing a good job!” the teacher said to her students. “Do you like yellow?” one student asked to the teacher. “I love yellow!” the teacher answer to the student. Others three students were putting things together, building a building at other table another teacher. “Well! What is that?!” the teacher asked the student. “Look! Look!” other student talking. “What is that?!” the teacher asked. “A stick” the student answered. The teacher shown pictures what they can build, the students looked through the book. Then the teacher went to pick the phone. The students went back and forth from table to table. Everyone, students, teachers were all interacted with each other. Everyone seems to be comfortable with one other to share and play well together.
The preschool ages were around three to six years old. There were girls and boys but most of them were girls. All of the girl students wore all colorful clothes like pink and purple and all of the boy students wore either blue or gray color. Most of them wore t- shirt and blue jean and some girls wore legging. Both girls and boys wore sneakers. Girls have long hair and boys have short hair. All of the teachers wore jean and t-shirt. One teacher has strange short hair and two other teachers have long curly hair. The students were so cute and have so much energy the whole time I was there. They sang, ran and talked with each other. They were learning by playing.
I never had been to preschool setting before I visit this school so for this experience I like it. I liked and enjoy watching them. I learned a lot from this visit. The teachers and the students were very helpful and friendly. Some students even came up to me and asked me who I am and what I was doing their classroom. I had learned so much about the preschool’s environment. I learned what is like to work with young child and how fun it is to teach them.

I actually have never been in preschool or pre-kindergarten classroom and know what their environments were like. For the assignment, I went to ABC fun preschool at Grove Street to observation what pre-kindergarten and preschool children were and what was their environment was like.
ABC fun preschool has preschool classroom and pre-kindergarten class next to it. As I arrive at the front of the school and started to walk passed the fence into the school, I saw the playground in the front yard. I walked on the sidewalk at the right side of the playground though into the school. I rang the bell and a preschool teacher opened the door for me. I arrived at free time and everyone was playing different things as they chose too. Pre-kindergartener was getting ready for the class to start while preschooler was getting ready to go play outside at playground. Preschooler was lining up in the front of the door waiting for the teacher. The teacher asked each of the students to spell out their name and she wrote in on the whiteboard on the right side of the door as class attended. I was now walking into pre-kindergarten class. They finished with cleaning up and sat on the blue rug face to the wall. Half of wall in the room was blue and other half was white. The wall that they were facing to was white and full of the decorations with colorful pictures, posters, calendar and alphabets. On the ceiling was white color and rectangular lights. There are four areas in the classroom, reading area, computer area, resting area and a big area in the middle of the classroom doesn’t have rug where they can play. There were letter hanging from the ceiling, three computers in computers area, and a lot chairs in resting area. There are two windows, one on the left side of the room and other one was on the emergency door exit at the right side. There are a trash and a recycle near the students’ table. As was now, the teacher asked them to students to spell their names like preschooler then they sang flag of pleasant and pleasing. After the teacher asked a student to come up to the front and telling data of the day. When they finished with that, the teacher took out a deck of animal cards. The teacher holds a card up and asked one student such as “what is this?” and a student responded “ant!”, and teacher responded “good job!”. The teacher asked student one by one with different card. Everyone was having fun and the children shown a lot of energy. After the card game, the students asked to teacher to play music chair game. They put four chairs back to back with other four chairs. There were 9 children in the class. The teacher played for a bit and when she stopped the music students tried to sat on the chair was open. Whoever didn’t get sat on the chair was out of the game. Each game one student out and one chair out too and at the end of the game one last student was the winner. Everyone ran to the student that was the winner and scream, laugh, and hug her. They were clean up by put back their chairs back to where it was and clean their hands for snack time.
Preschooler was now inside. Purple, pink, and light green was the colors of the wall. The teacher sat on the rug face to her students. There were two teachers in preschool’s classroom. One teacher was made puzzle with three students and other teacher was at the table area doing drawing. They were separation the pieces of puzzle in to two groups, the parts of flower in one group and the parts of sky in other group. Three kids were playing with puzzle on the rug. Four kids draw art on the table in the middle of the classroom. “You doing a good job” said of the teacher. “Do you like yellow”? A student asked the teacher and “I love yellow!” the teacher responded. Five other students were putting things together and make buildings. The student went to get their crayon case at cabinet shell at the right wall and went to the table and draw picture. The cabinet is near computer area. Two students were playing with computers. After they finished with draw, the students clean up, wash their hands and they went to play other things. They weren’t play at one place, they move around and look at other students were doing.  Everyone was interacted with each other.
The preschool and per-kindergarten ages were around three to six years old. There were girls and boys but most of per-kindergarten was girls. The girls wore all color clothes like pink. Most of them wore t- shirt and blue jean and some girls wore legging. Both girls and boys wore sneakers. Girls have long hair and boys have short hair. All of the teachers wore jean and t-shirt. your child left behind

"Your Child Left Behind"

Main point
- it is about education between countries.
- the case study done by Eric Hanushek who graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1965 and two colleagues.
- they compare unite state education data to the rest of the world and US student seem to fall behind.
- the data show that US students doesn't do good in math.
- they couldn't do the test in literature because of language barriers. math is the skills everyone can do when they learn in school without language barriers.
- they also compare states in the country and Massachusetts is the best one. the reason was that massachusetts have requirements for teachers and students.
- for teacher: need to pass a literacy test and more than a third of the new teachers failed the test.
- for student: need to pass a test (MCAS ) before graduation from high school.

Note: i found this article helpful. i liked it. I'm suprised that Unite State fall behind in math than rest of the world because over here, there is a grovment to help students with money to conuite with their education. and there are high requirements and techology to help the students. in my county, not everyone able to go to school because of the cost.
